The Central Board of Education (CBSE) has decided to not to re-conduct the 10th class mathematics examination which was leaked last month. As per reports the board is also not going to conduct re-examination in Haryana and Delhi NCR where the leak took place majorly. The decision came as a relief for more than 17 lakh students.
The HRD Ministry Secretary Anil Swarup addresed media on Tuesday and said, “CBSE has decided to not to re-conduct class X maths examination, even in Delhi NCR and Haryana. The decision is taken after evaluating the impact of leaked CBSE class X maths paper and keeping in mind the paramount interest of students.”
As per reports, CBSE evaluated the answer sheets of class X mathematics paper and didn’t find anything to any impact on exam due to paper leak last month. The exam was conducted by board on 28th march and after that a news of leak came. After that board was considering for a re-examination of maths.
CBSE officially announced to not to conduct re-exam on Tuesday noon. A source of board stated “A complete analysis will be done in upcoming days. if board see an unusual variations in marks then it will enable CBSE to figure out the answer sheets indicates leak.”
On Monday, The respected Supreme Court agreed to hear petitions that were challenging the board’s decision to re conduct Economics exam for class XII and Mathematics exam for class X respectively after the news of leak.
A bench of Chief Justice Dipak Misra, Justice AM Khanwilkar and Justice DY Chandrachud said “The court have been received so many partitions on this issue of re-exam, so it would list them all for hearing on April 04th.
On Monday Delhi High Court also asked CBSE about their actions, if any, to re-conduct the mathematics examination of class 10th. On the other hand CBSE introduced a leak proof system of encrypted question papers that are supposed to be printed by schools. The system was implemented with one dummy run and it faced so many issues during the test of encrypted question papers. Now it is awaited the nest steps of board and Supreme Court.
